Our Impact

A theatrical performance featuring a person standing on an elevated platform, raising a fist, surrounded by a group of children reaching towards them. The scene is illuminated with blue stage lighting and fog.

For 10 years, Youth Theatre Kenya has been transforming lives through the power of theatre. What began as a single production in 2015 has grown into a community that nurtures creativity, builds confidence, and shapes young leaders.

Why support YTK?

Theatre is not just performance — it’s transformation. At YTK, young people develop confidence, empathy, creativity, and leadership skills that positively impact their families, schools, and communities.

Impact by the numbers

Over the past decade, Youth Theatre Kenya has engaged over 2,000 young people through creative workshops, theatre productions, and community outreach — empowering them with confidence, teamwork, and a voice that matters. Our programs have reached dozens of schools across Kenya, creating spaces where young people can learn, perform, and grow through the arts.

We’ve also built international collaborations with leading organizations such as the National Youth Music Theatre (UK), Broadway Arts Community (USA), and Sibikwa Arts Centre (South Africa). Along the way, we’ve produced 10+ original shows, telling authentic Kenyan and African stories — from Kesho Amahoro to Albatross to The Iron Snake — celebrating creativity that connects communities across cultures.

Ripple Effect

At Youth Theatre Kenya, transformation doesn’t end when the curtain falls — it continues in classrooms, workplaces, and communities across the country. Our alumni are now thriving in law, conservation, media, education, business, and the arts, using their creativity and confidence to make a difference wherever they go.

Each young person who passes through YTK carries forward the values of kindness, respect, collaboration, and leadership, inspiring others by example. We believe that one student can impact ten more lives, creating a powerful ripple effect of empathy, empowerment, and change throughout Kenya.
