Celebrating 10 years of creativity & Transformation

A decade of stories, community, and change through the power of theatre.

A Decade in the Making

Since 2015, Youth Theatre Kenya has been a home for young people aged 9–25 to create, belong, and grow. From our first production of Kesho Amahoro to our latest reimagining of The Iron Snake, we’ve told true Kenyan and African stories, built communities, and nurtured over a thousand young performers, leaders, and changemakers.

“Once you step onto the stage at YTK, you never leave the family.”

Our Impact

  • Over 2,000 young people have participated in YTK workshops, productions, and community outreach programs — discovering their voices and creative confidence.

  • We have YTK alumni who are now thriving in various fields like law, conservation, media, tech, education, and the arts, carrying the spirit of creativity and leadership into every field.

  • We’ve built meaningful partnerships with global institutions including the National Youth Music Theatre (UK), Broadway Arts Community, and Sibikwa Arts Centre (South Africa), among others.

  • From the journeys of refugees in Kesho Amahoro to Kenyan history in Albatross and The Iron Snake — and even community outreach through The Elephant Queen — our stories celebrate identity, resilience, and belonging.

Donate to Youth Theatre Kenya

Your donation to Youth Theatre Kenya helps us nurture creativity, confidence, and leadership in young people across the country. Every contribution supports workshops, productions, and outreach programs that give youth a platform to express themselves and tell stories that matter. Together, we can transform lives, build a generation of changemakers, and shape a brighter future through the power of theatre.

Nurturing Dreams, Growing the Future

The first 10 years were about nurturing the seed of Youth Theatre Kenya — planting roots, testing ideas, and creating a space where young people could thrive.

The next 10 years are about growth. Our vision is to reach 1,000 students every year, across 20+ schools, equipping young people with creativity, collaboration, and values that ripple into their communities. Together, we can nurture the next generation of kind, conscious leaders for Kenya.
